🌍 Overview

I’m beyond thrilled to share one of the biggest milestones of my career!
This year, my project SereniFi was selected as part of the GirlScript Summer of Code Extended (GSSoC Extd) 2024 β€” a program that brought together over 42,000 contributors in open-source development. Out of this massive pool, I was honored to be one of the 200 selected Project Administrators, a role I embraced with pride and responsibility.

As the Project Administrator, I had the chance to mentor contributors, guide development, and build a thriving open-source community around SereniFi β€” an app designed to bring mental peace through guided meditations, breathing exercises, and relaxing music.

πŸ† Achievements with SereniFi

  • ⭐ 32 Stars | πŸ”± 91 Forks
  • 🐞 69 Issues raised and 77 Issues Closed
  • πŸ’‘ 3 Open PRs and 77 Closed PRs
  • πŸŽ‰ 32 Contributors had their PRs successfully merged during Hacktoberfest and GSSoC Extended

These milestones represent more than numbersβ€”they’re a testament to the collaborative spirit of open source and the hard work of every contributor.

πŸŽ₯ SereniFi Showcased at GSSoC Extended

I’m proud to share that SereniFi was even showcased at the official launch of GSSoC Extended 2024 out of 200 projects selected! Hearing Program Manager Sanjay Viswanathan describe our repo as β€œawesome” was a moment I’ll never forget.

πŸ’‘ Closing Thoughts

Being a Project Admin in GSSoC Extended 2024 has been both a challenge and a joy. Watching SereniFi grow from a hackathon idea into a highlighted open-source project has reinforced my belief in the power of community-driven development.

Here’s to building more projects that support mental health and inspire the next generation of open-source contributors! 🌿✨
